I'm a Dreamhost customer, and don't know if our situation is unique or not, but the smtp and imap domains are `mail.example.com` even though the SSL certificate belongs to `*.dreamhost.com`.

I haven't been able to set up the email app on my Flame because I get the following error:

> Unable to establish a secure connection with "mail.example.com". There may be a problem with your network or the server.

I think the issue is the domain name mismatch, but I can't find any way to accept the certificate.

Hi!

According to Dreamhost's official wiki site , you can try this (cut-and-pasted from the page). If it doesn't work, there are still other options available at the page.

Connect to the mail server using the dreamhost.com server name instead of mail.your_domain.com.

Use these steps to determine what server name to use:

   In the DreamHost Control Panel
Click "Account Status" in the upper right hand corner
Look for the "Your Email Culster:" at the bottom of the list.
Find your cluster in the table below.
Use the server name for the incoming server in your mail program.

Email Cluster Server Name homiemail-sub3 sub3.mail.dreamhost.com homiemail-sub4 sub4.mail.dreamhost.com homiemail-sub5 sub5.mail.dreamhost.com homiemail-master homie.mail.dreamhost.com

Hello @amandabee

Have you tried using the mail.dreamhost.com or mail.yourdomain.com (changing yourdomain with your actual domain name)?

The example part of the domain is simply there to tell you that it is an example, it is not the domain you should be using when connecting to your email.

I hope this helps.

Thanks. I don't want to sound ungrateful for your assistance, but I'm not an idiot. I just didn't want to include my domain in the question.

The point is, the settings that work in every other email client don't work in Firefox's Email App because there is no way for me to accept the domain name mismatch.

Bingo.

Still doesn't solve the real question ("How do I accept a mismatched certificate if I want to do that?") but i've got mail coming into my phone so I'm happy.

Wonderful! So glad to be able to help.

Thanks for using Firefox OS.
