I've just installed the FF33.0 update and I am unable to browse the Internet.

I am having to use another browser on the same laptop in order to access this site.

I have Windows 8.1 installed on an i7 Laptop. I connect via WiFi through my Broadband router. The connection is fine (checked & double checked). I can't even access the GUI of my router through FF33.0 .

I have accessed the Firefox site and downloaded FF33.0 from there. Went through the process (upgrade was selected) and the same problem occurred.

hello, normally such issues are caused by a firewall/security software which doesn't recognize & therefore blocks new firefox versions. please remove all program rules for firefox from your firewall and let it detect the new version of the browser again.

Many thanks Philipp.

Symantec needs to get a shuffle on as this was the cause.

It wasn't even flagging it up as blocked which is perhaps even more annoying.

There are some updates from Symantec which I have now installed. Shame that they weren't picked up automatically.
