When typing in the address bar, suggestions will pop up. Usually, I'll type out the website I want to go to or use the URL autocomplete feature instead of using the suggestions, because it's quicker for me that way. But if I accidentally move my mouse down a bit, it'll highlight a suggestion and go to that site instead when I hit enter. I want to disable that. But I still want the suggestions to appear. However, I want to make it so you can only go to those suggestions by clicking on them.

I'm not aware of a way to avoid this. It is possible to close the drop-down list with the ESC key, but it will reopen when you type the next character and there are matches. It would be fine if the drop down would stay closed once closed that way and only reopen if focus is moved away temporarily from the location bar.

Hi a707, I understand that you want to disable the mouse when you are typing in the url bar, but you do not want to disable it for clicking on suggested search results.

Current features of the awesomebar: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/awesome-bar-find-your-bookmarks-hist...

Unfortunately in the about:config there is only browser.search.suggest.enabled and browser.urlbar.autocomplete.enabled but there are: browser.urlbar.autoFill, browser.urlbar.autoFill.typed, browser.urlbar.clickSelectsall which are what they suggest in that article above.

I would recommend looking in [addons.mozilla.org] for the feature you are looking for.
