Admin of a forum using vB. My problem is in dealing with spammers while using Firefox. It stems from the breed of spammers using a technique of putting an img link of an invisible image (typically a 1 pixel image of a white dot) into what would otherwise appear to be legitimate post to drive up their google (or other) rankings.

In both OS X and Win7 using the latest versions of the OS and the browsers in question - going into edit a post in Safari, Chrome or IE permits me to see these links and ban these spammers - Firefox does not show me these links.

If I can put up attachments, will do so.

Have you checked with vBulletin support to see what they say?

Have you done View Page Source in Firefox, and viewed the source code for a posting like that?

Sorry, have not checked with vB since Safari, Chrome, IE nor Opera exhibit this problem. Will check in with their forums though.

Considered viewing source code, but when every other browser shows me the full urls, I don't have the time to spend 30 seconds to a minute in FF looking at new posts in the forum when I can check the posts in 3 seconds on any other browser.

Since I prefer FF when I'm using Windows, thought I'd see if perhaps I'm blind and just not seeing some FF preference so that FF shows the full url instead of only indicating there is a link - as in the rectangular box of the 2 examples above.

Thanks

Sorry, just showing us a couple of screenshots doesn't tell us much.

You could try posting at the Web Development / Standards Evangelism forum at MozillaZine. The helpers over there are more knowledgeable about web page issues with Firefox in comparison to other browsers. http://forums.mozillazine.org/viewforum.php?f=25 You'll need to register and login to be able to post in that forum.

They'll probably need a URL of where that can be experienced first hand. and login credentials if necessary to see what you are showing us in those screenshots.

The only other thing that I can think of is to tel you to try it in the Firefox SafeMode in case an add-on is creating that issue. https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/troubleshoot-firefox-issues-using-safe-mode

Did you check the settings of your vBulletin account in case you have disabled some features by accident and can't include images and they might be hidden because of that?
