Hi

I have my thunderbird set to sort out the junk but for some reason it is marking mails I am sending an receiving as junk.

Like yesterday I contacted support for a site I am using. The first response from them came through fine marked unread and NOT marked as junk.

I then responded back and got a reply shortly there after but this time it was marked as read and junk.

Is there any way either in settings or customization to prevent messages I am responding to and sending back and forth from being marked as junk like this as it isn't junk if I am the original sending of the message chain and actively responding to the support agent who at least in this case just happened to be the same individual so not like it was a different e-mail address.

Thanks Dave

each email is examined on it's merits. where it fist in a chain of correspondence is not something that is looked at, nor is the email address used.

That doesn't answer my question though!

re :got a reply shortly there after but this time it was marked as read and junk.

Did you opt to train the Junk Controls by selecting email and clicking on 'not Junk' button ? Did you put the email address of person in your address book? Have you selected that address book as a whitelist in the Junk Settings?

Yes I have but the question was how to prevent my own e-mail chains from being marked spam.

I contacted support the other day from my Thunderbird program so the program knew right off that I started this chain being I sent the first mail to the support address. I then had a response from support that came through fine.

I then responded to the response so this is the second message from me to support. Then the second reply from support got marked as junk.

By the time it gets to the 4th message in the chain that I stated it should not be marking things as junk.

What bugs me with this is I am going to accidentally delete something merely because it is marked junk not realizing it was the response I was looking for! That is why I am asking if there is a way to edit the option or customize through some file the way it handles messages that I have started. If I am sending to support then their replies are clearly not junk.

re : the second reply from support got marked as junk. So this is not your email address, it is the sender. It may be due to the Subject or something in the body of the email etc.

Are they marked as 'Spam' eg; or 'Junk'. If marked as 'spam' and put into 'Junk' or 'Spam' folder then Thunderbird is not marking as 'spam'; it is another program like spamassassin or the filter on server.

Have a look at the source of email to see what if any spam headers are listed. eg: Received-SPF: fail select email click on 'More' and select 'view source'

In account Settings > junk settings have you selected the option to trust junk mail headers set by eg: SpamAssassin ?

Not using spam assassin and as I said it's marked as junk
