I use Firefox frequently as it is the most useful browser I have. I want to keep a clean desktop and do not have icons on my desktop. Every time Firefox updates, it places an icon on my desktop. I do not want it there and delete it. It is very, very annoying to have to delete every time there is an update. How can I keep that from putting it on my desktop? If the thinking is that if it gets put there, I will use it, that will be what keeps me from using it. If I cannot find a way to stop it, I will remove the program altogether and figure out a way to do the things I currently do with Firefox. Please let me know how to accomplish keeping my desktop clean.

I have asked the question multiple times, received multiple responses that do not allow access or clear instructions on: how to control Firefox restarts. I cannot get to Settings that has what the instructions say to look for.

Why do you guys always manage to break a feature with any new update?

For 148.0, you have caused the "Check for updates" button [available under Help > About Firefox] to completely disappear (even though it was here and working perfectly fine a few seconds ago with 147.0.4), creating an unnecessary blank space below the Firefox logo.

On another note, the new font for the logo is a very poor choice, it's a weird combination of square and rounded edges with weird proportions. Who validated this choice?

I believe I downloaded 153, but I don't where to find it.

The information regarding Version 153 and downloading it is confusing.

One page states, "Manual upgrade to 153 is now enabled via Help > About", but when I go to Help > About, all I see is the current version and the statement that it is up to date. The recommendation on one page regarding 153 is to switch from Release to ESR, although the contrary seems to be the case for Version 153.

Using Windows 11. I try to update from ESR (version 140.13) to the release path. It concludes with a pop-up saying I must "reboot to finish a Thunderbird de-install" (or words to that effect). I reboot and it hasn't done anything. Version 140.13ESR is still present and if I repeat the update to release, the same thing happens.

I fear if I use the W11 tools to de-install Thunderbird altogether before re-installing TB from scratch, I'll lose all my existing email.

How do I do it?

I am on release 140.12.1 esr and there appears to be no new updates available. If so, what release should I be on and can I just download and install to get back on the latest release

Currently, my Firefox Browser continues operating under Windows 10, without a known Windows 11, operating Browser update correction! Is there a solution to this problem?

I was able to navigate firefox this morning and this afternoon VPN comes up and I can't do any of the necessary operations for my work. How can I get back to plain Firefox?
