I recently downloaded the newest firefox but now it wont connect to the internet anymore. Im using wondows XP. Anyone else has this problem? What to do?

I cant connect to the internet anymore. I downloaded firefox 4 and I got a error that some programmes didnt run anymore with the newest firefox. I gave the command to continue and now it doesnt work. As you can read I'm not an expert when it concerns computers..
