My statusbar gone, I go to to view and do the settings bu nothing changed. When I restart firefox I can see the statusbar for a second then it disapperars. I use firefox 3.6.6

Do you have that problem when running in the Firefox SafeMode? http://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/Safe+Mode Don't select anything right now, just use "Continue in SafeMode."

It is also possible that the screen is too wide or too high and that the scroll bars fall off. Open the system menu via Alt+Space and see if you can resize that window.
