Today on my (android) phone I received a Firefox update. I have auto update turned off, so I don't know when it was initially available, but I installed updates on all apps late this morning. It reset all of my privacy and search settings. I first noticed because it was giving me google and firefox suggestions as I typed, and I find all autocomplete/suggestions to be annoying and not helpful, so I have always had this turned off as I NEVER want any suggestions. Finding that I checked my other settings, and found that all AI, Firefox Suggest, and usage/diagnostic data were all turned on which were not earlier in the day. I always have this garbage OFF.

After work I checked all of my devices. All of them are set to update automatically but one. That is the only device that did not reset my privacy and search settings, but as soon as it updated it did. (none of my other settings seem to be impacted, as other things I've changed are still there).

Is this going to be standard practice now? I don't even get notifications when it is updated so how will I know to turn this off? Do I just have to check every day? I did a security check just a week ago and all of my settings were off. I do this every few weeks as windows likes to change my settings and install apps I don't need with updates so I regularly check all my apps privacy settings on my phone and PCs.

Is this a known issue? Is this going to be resolved? I don't like when companies collect my data after I have turned it off.

when i download something from my mozilla private browser and close the browser, the downloaded data automatically disappear from download folder. is it a common feature.

I joined a Microsoft Teams meeting through Firefox on the web on a Linux machine. When I tried to share my entire screen, I was asked if I wanted to share the entire screen in a Firefox pop up which I said yes. Then the "you are sharing your entire screen" came up, the sharing icon was red and the "stop sharing" button was red. See attached image. This all disappeared and reverted to the default state almost instantly.

Teams has a feature to "manage what attendees see manage what attendees see" where the meeting host can preview shared content before making it live.

I am concerned that the meeting owner was able to see my entire shared screen without me even knowing it through this preview.

Can someone help? Microsoft just sends you around in circles and I can't contact Mozilla.

when i log in my mail from pc(thunderbird) it works well,it requests autodiscover request to webserver it works well,but from phone it says(Configuration found this configuration is not trusted we received the configuration for you email server over a connection that isn't as secure as we'd like. this means that these is a tiny chance that someone could have altered it. Could you please double-check the provided configuration to make sure it's as it should be?) and autodiscover request not shown on webserver. can you tell me possible causes? Thanks! I have telemetry (every checkbox under "Firefox Data Collection and Use") disabled, but noticed that the datareporting/archived directory contains telemetry files. Is this expected, or does this indicate a bug that shows that telemetry is being sent?

The file paths have the format:

<profile dir>/datareporting/archived/2025-09/<unixtimestamp>.<uuid>.main.jsonlz4 <profile dir>/datareporting/archived/2025-09/<unixtimestamp>.<uuid>.events.jsonlz4

Please tell me exactly WHAT AI, WHERE that AI is, and EXACTLY what DATA is transmitted, on an option that's enabled BY DEFAULT on Firefox.

"Use AI to suggest tabs and a name for tab groups"

And the same question for ALL other AI features.

There is ZERO transparency on this issue, and I'm mightily disgusted that you feel the need to, by default, force share the EVERY WEBSITE VISITED with a third party AI system.

getting "SYSTEM WARNING" , " McAfee license expired " , " Trojan Detected " popup notifications continually after following a link on Linked In . Windows finds no threat in its quick scan . Popups occur even when Mozilla closed .

Has any body else found Firefox relay to be mostly useless? I put up with the annoyance for a few days and then had to get rid of it.

I did use it once to get past the id page for a purchase just to look at the freight cost. Too much, so the tab was closed straight away and the masked email did not leave my computer.

The problem is that signing up to new accounts or providing your email online is something that is done only very rarely compared to the number of times your email has to be used to login to an existing account but relay has to be in the way every time.

Just a hint to the developers, those accounts already have my email and they will never lose them. Also if I need to use my email to sign in, giving a mask email is not going to work very well.

Relay is a great idea if only it could determine the right time to get in the way.

New European regulations (GDPR) require the use of BCC when emailing a group. This needs to be error proof as the cost of a mistake could be serious. The present system relies on me remembering to select BCC each time I write to the group.

Use BCC instead sounds OK, but I'm reluctant to use an add-in, as updates to TB could make it fail. And if I'm relying on it and suddenly it doesnt work..

Is there some way that I can create an address list so that when I write to that list it will ALWAYS use BCC? The contact data in the address book has about 50 fields, is there no way to set the preferred type of addressing?

I've read other replies to similar questions but none give the confidence in security that I'm seeking.

I tried my current Hotmail pwd, but received: 'Login to Server imap.gmail.com failed'. 'Retry', 'Enter New Password' or 'Cancel'. I tried all 3 previous Hotmail pwds, but receive the same. I added a Master Password just now, but still get the above…. Help!!!

I used Startup Master to keep my e-mails private. However, by just keep clicking 'cancel' when asked for the password, Thunderbird opens and you can read all my mails. Is there any bug in that add-ons?. It's not only happened in add-on, I happens in default master password too.

I have changed the privacy settings as suggested in the help guide, but any image I text to my e-mail is blocked. They can only be double clicked on the footer to open them in another application. Is it possible to have them load automatically in the body of the e-mail?

I found an article how to reset the master password. It worked for Mozila's password in the browser but not with thunderbird. I cannot get it to go to thunderbird's tool to reset it from there.
