How do I start…? Well, I’ll try from the beginning…

My C drive has almost run out of storage space. It only has between 1 and 2 GB left. When I receive emails in Thunderbird with (big) images, do these images eat of my C drive’s storage with the same proportion as the size of the images attached in the emails – i.e. if the image is 10 MB, will there then be 10MB less left of the C drive’s total storage space?

And is there any way to move the whole Thunderbird (emails with images) over to the D drive, which has plenty of storage space?

I am learning how to develop add-ons for Thunderbird. In working through the [**"Hello World" Extension Tutorial**](https://developer.thunderbird.net/add-ons/hello-world-add-on), I decided to try calling the function `messenger.notifications.getPermissionLevel()` function described in the [MailExtensions notifications API documentation](https://webextension-api.thunderbird.net/en/128-esr-mv2/notifications.html).

When I use code like: ``` let allowed = await messenger.notifications.getPermissionLevel(); ``` I see the following error message on the Developer Tools console: ``` Uncaught (in promise) TypeError: messenger.notifications.getPermissionLevel is not a function ```

Meanwhile, over at GitHub, I see [thunderbird/webext-schemas/schema-files/notifications.json#L228-L247](https://github.com/thunderbird/webext-schemas/blob/d0c42f0f1e82244095f002387a2a4d253ab679fb/schema-files/notifications.json#L228-L247), which includes the field, `"unsupported": true`. It also lacks a field `mdn_url`, and there is no entry for it in the [Mozilla browser extensions docs](https://developer.mozilla.org/en-US/docs/Mozilla/Add-ons/WebExtensions/API/notifications).

So, is messenger.notifications.getPermissionLevel() supported in Thunderbird 128esr? And, where is that answer documented?

I am trying to send a message with lots of MIME attachments from Thunderbird and I get this error message: "Number of MIME parts exceeds maximum permitted". Unhelpfully it does not say what the maximum is and I cannot find this information in Support. Anyone know what the maximum number of MIME attachments to an email is? Thanks in advance

I suddenly cannot receive new messages, for the last 5 days I didn't change anything (in fact was out of town) but now I get an Error that says "Login to account ________ failed. Login to server mail.nctvocom with username ________ failed."

Is there any way to get Thunderbird to show ICS files? Right now it just shows the contents as unusable trash in the email body.

Before anyone says it, toggling 'Display attachments inline' doesn't do anything. Enabling a calendar in Thunderbird allows the 'accept' etc buttons, but then I have to deal with the headache of a calendar in Thunderbird and still doesn't show the ICS file so I can use it with my actual calendar app.

Good Afternoon! I am looking at an add on right on the Mozilla site. It's called "Edit Email Subject" (EES). This would allow me to organize my emails better by editing the subject line with more detail. I downloaded it, but Firefox tells me the Add On is not verified and cannot be installed. Yet it is on your site. It appears to be what I need, can you help - either by verifiying help, or (?) or by recommending another suitable add on? Reviews on EES were good, by the way. Help! In the left column, my Inbox, All Mail, and Important folders indicate that I have 2 unread emails. I can see those two emails in the All Mail folder, the Important folder, but I cannot see them anywhere in the Inbox. I do not have threads turned on in any of the folders. I have checked and tried all filters and sorts. I have tried copying the emails from the All Mail folder to the Inbox, with no changes. Any idea on how I can see them in the Inbox?

Hello, I can no longer get into my Thunderbird mail client. A warning message says that live.mozillamessaging.com:443 is using an invalid security certificate. The error code is sec_error_expired_issuer_certificate. Is this a problem at the Mozilla server? On my other computer, Mac Mail is continuing to receive mails normally. Thanks for your help. This bug shows up in Thunderbird 115.18.0 (64-Bit) on Xubuntu 22.04.5 LTS, but it might be present also in other versions.

When I am discussing software topics, I often write emails about what I did and what happened then. I document my findings with pasted screenshots. The emails are HTML-Type emails.

While I am composing these emails, everything looks perfectly ok.

But once the email is sent, it arrives at its destination without some of the pasted pictures and only with frames showing the sizes of those pictures! When I look op those emails under "sent", some of the later suppressed pictures miss from there. It looks like TB switches to a "loose pictures" mode once and sticks to it for that particular email. It looks like the probability of being hit by this bug increases with the number of pasted pictures.

Note: This complaint is different from this one https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/1183434, where it is about pictures copied and pasted from the web (where it might be the case that instead of the picture an Internet link gets posted: My complaint is about pictures not related to any internet source but rather to pictures from my screenshooter utility, which is xfce4-screenshooter (I am on Linux, in particular on Xubuntu 20.04).

The first (usually 1 or 2) pictures arrive well at the destination of the email but if the number of pasted screenshots exceeds 4 or 5, the bug shows up. The really bad thing is that when I am composing the mail, everything looks perfectly ok. I can only tell if a mail is affected from this bug, when the email is sent - and then it is too late!

I tried to Send an email, but the Send option at the top left of the email has changed to Send Later and the email does not send.

How do I change that option back to Send?

Can I actually sign up for a Thunderbird email address (account) in addition to my gmail.com address (account), if so I would like to do that.
