I've selected to delete my history on quit. However, when I subsequently reopen Firefox, I've found that under 'History' all my previously closed tabs are saved. Why is this? Why isn’t *all* my browsing history deleted on quit?

Currently: ​The History menu allows me to delete entries for a specific time range (e.g., "Last hour"), but this fails to clear associated cookies or site data, leaving my session traces active. ​The Settings > Delete browsing data menu provides the necessary options to clear cookies and cache, but it lacks any time range selection. It only allows for a "Delete All" approach. ​The Impact: This creates a problematic loop for users who value their privacy. If I want to wipe my traces for just the last hour, I am forced to delete my entire browser history and cookies, which logs me out of every single service I use. This lack of granular control is a step back from the privacy standards Firefox usually maintains. ​Requested Resolution: I request that you treat this as a functional gap and implement a "Time Range" picker (Last hour, Last 24 hours, etc.) within the "Delete browsing data" settings, similar to the desktop implementation. This would ensure that mobile users can manage their privacy without the "all-or-nothing" penalty currently in place. ​Thank you for your attention to this matter and for your ongoing commitment to user privacy.

Settings provides feature "Delete browsing data on quit". With this feature ON and option "History" selected, the latest version clears the History list, but does NOT delete the list of Recently Closed Tabs on the history page. This seems to be a major bug.

Hi. So I've been having this issue where, I search something in google, it searches what I asked it to. Then I search again and it finds what I asked it to. The third time if I search again it'll go back to the first thing I tried to search as if i just pressed BACK twice. Something similar happens if I search for something, and then if I search the second thing and tap on the website and then press BACK, it'll go back to the first Google result I ssearched. It's been a few weeks this has been happening and the only thing that'll TEMPORARILY fix it is if I close firefox. If you need any more information I'd be happy to help you help me. Thank you!

Using Firefox on Android, occasionally hitting the phone's back button will go back twice. Hitting forward will then go forward twice. The middle stop is lost!

I have tried to resolve by changing settings in HTTPS ONLY, DNS over HTTPS and Enhanced Tracking Protection from strict to standard to strict and now custom blocking everything as well as all third party cookies.

signed out and back in to Google Account

the only thing I haven't tried is reinstall I have a lot of different bookmark collection and it's a pain to replace them

I noticed that the "recently closed tabs" hustory remains available even after quitting firefox, when quitting should erase history.

This is counterintuitive. I would like quitting to clear also the recently closed tabs.

Would you like to consider this for the next version update?

bold text Why is firefox now keeping track of all sites I have visited? Tapping "close all tabs" or "quit" help. Is this related to your policy wording changes? Just say so! Do I need to choose another browser IronFox?? Brave catching up. I have used firefox 7+ years!!!

Добрый день! Уже не первый раз встречается проблема когда возврат на предыдущую страницу возвращает на исходную. Например: захожу в поисковик гугл, ввожу запрос и перехожу на какой-нибудь результат, далее возвращаюсь назад и меняю свой запрос в поисковике, захожу на новую страницу из результатов, снова возвращаюсь назад, но попадаю не на последний мой запрос в поисковике а на самые первый.

Mine was set to -1, I changed it to 0

The latest update severely broke the app. At random, tabs will suddenly go back one, two, sometimes even several steps back in their history, and it is impossible to go back forward to where I was; the "forward" button is grayed out and it's like I never left the page I was suddenly thrown back to for no reason.

This can happen right after following a link, or it can happen several seconds after a page has fully loaded. When this happens, sometimes trying to follow _any_ link sends Firefox back to the same page until the app is forcefully killed and restarted.

Other people have described identical experiences in the Android reviews. Please revert the latest update. It's unusable. I have to go back to Chrome for the first time in over a decade.

I have tried disabling all extensions, and the problem persists.

I regularly visit a site whose URL begins with "ni". When I type "ni", the full URL appears an an autofill suggestion. This is the desired behaviour.

Unfortunately, after visiting the site "nitecruzr.blogspot.com", this site is autofilled when I type "ni".

Firefox's documentation sais that if I delete the page from my history, it won't autofill again. Unfortunately, after deleting the page, this site still autofills when I type "ni".

How can I actually remove this site from address-bar autofill?

I wanted to use this space to address the Firefox Android's awful browser history interface.

I made a complaint six years ago in which one of the issues I had with the mobile browser was that trying to search through history was a miserable experience. Six years, three phones, and numerous updates later, absolutely nothing has been fixed. The mobile browser STILL does not separate entries by date, and when one searches by website the only options are "Firefox Suggests" instead of an actual chronological listing of what pages were visited.

Yes, I know that bookmarking pages would alleviate this issue. I typically do, but I'm human and can forget to do that. And no, syncing both the desktop and mobile browser histories is not a valid excuse, not when other mobile browsers were able to do this without relying on desktop versions for over a decade.

And so I ask again, is there a better way to view the browser history. And if not, could Mozilla PLEASE actually implement an actual UI that properly organizes search history. I enjoy Firefox's privacy measures and I really do not want to go back to Chrome, but I need to also have a browser that doesn't feel like I'm pulling teeth just to use something so basic.

Since the last update the following error occurs: If I delete individual entries in the browser history, they don't stay deleted, hey are back after a while.

Is this a bug?

The Android App won't allow me to find specific items from history (e.g. i wanna visit chatgpt.com, but all suggestions offer me chatandgo VENEZIA when typing chat) and delete them. There's no way I can scroll so much history just to find specific items to delete. Method for deleting all history or for last hour makes no sense. See the attachment. Thank you.

This is a new issue, starting yesterday, 09-30-2025. When I went to delete some (NOT all) websites in my browsing history, and after using the X to remove said websites, and then when that didnt work, I pressed on the website & hit the delete tab... thinking I had deleted all I had wanted deleted, then went back into my history to make sure they were removed, and I discovered that ALL of my "deletions" were back, and, in fact had "children". There are over 180 deletions that are back in my history. They keep growing! I've tried 5 different times to delete those that I longer want in my history to no avail. What has happened here? Thank you for your assistance with this frustrating issue.
