I'm using a Windows/Linux client called WSL (Windows Subsystem for Linux). I've installed Debian as my WSL OS and for a long time I had Debian version 10. Firefox worked fine with ver 10 but this morning I upgraded to Debian version 13 (which required me to upgrade to the latest version of Firefox).

Firefox still launches okay but I wanted to change my home page to Google. So I clicked the 3 lines at the top RHS which showed me a popup menu but none of the options was selectable. Eventually I twigged that to change settings I needed to launch Firefox using sudo.

I managed to change the home page okay but I then realised that if I launch Firefox without using sudo, my new home page is ignored. Conversely (if I launch using sudo again) Firefox launches at a tiny size and can't be re-sized (at least, not using my mouse cursor). I've attached a small screenshot.

All I can do is to display it full screen and then I can tell that the home page is indeed now Google. I don't remember having these problems previously so can anyone give me a clue as to what I'm doing wrong??

everytime i upload a picture to some websites like tiktok/microsoft or even firefox, my images' quality gets decreased like from 2160x2160 to 230x230 idk why help me, firefox if you see this, FIX YOUR BROWSER ITS UNUSABLE

Despite updating Firefox I cannot currently use Facebook via this browser. The buttons for showing notifications, switching user and a number of others don't display or don't work even if they are visible. The content of posts is also not always displayed. After an hour with Meta's bot the conclusion is that, as these functions work via another browser, the problem is with Firefox.

I wanted to use a VPN so that my private browsing wouldnt go straight to the router. So I open the Firefox VPN and sign up for a Mozilla account. When I'm finished, it says the VPN panel is open and I should run the VPN, but the panel isnt open. Instead its showing me the Get Started screen again. Ive tried multiple times and asking multiple sources but nothings come up, so I need help here.

Auto updated to firefox 150 yesterday. What's new screen announced the rollout of the free in browser vpn had reached us (in Canada). Clicked the link to set up, went to screen to follow instructions. There's no vpn icon in the firefox menu bar, no matter what I do. (And I have done everything obvious.) Was the VPN not in the actual update I received or is this some bug/glitch? Thanks.

Just did another browser update and running 152.0.2 (aarch64)

when will the free vpn become available to me? I've been reading and watching for the invite box on the toolbar and don't see it.

I have no desire to interact with Google, Bing, or Perplexity, and as a rule I don't want outside parties (such as Firefox/Mozilla) deciding for me which search engines or other service providers I see advertising for. (And yes, seeing that "G" logo somewhere is advertising for Google.) I'm assuming that these companies are paying to be pre-loaded as search providers in Firefox, and I understand that Firefox needs this financial support if it's going to continue providing a browser.

After upgrading, I've always gone into the settings and removed these search providers - I don't want to see them offered as search options, and to be honest, I don't even want to see their names in the settings screens.

Now with Firefox 152, I find that I'm not able to delete these pre-loaded search providers anymore. I can turn off a switch to disable them, but there's no way to totally delete them from the list anymore. There's even a [in the documentation] which explicitly says that the pre-loaded search providers cannot be removed, only hidden.

'WHY can I not delete them?

Is there a technical reason, i.e. would the browser stop working if they were removed? Are some companies paying extra to not be delete-able, and it just happens that every one that's pre-loaded in Firefox 152 decided to pay the extra money? Or did Mozilla just make an arbitrary decision to reduce the level of control that users have over their own browsers?

The new government site bom.gov.au loads but flickering, it was working a few month ago but illegible now. Works fine in Private Mode and in MS Edge

last night when i closed the system down, i had 5 spacial tabs with names, and apx 50 other tabs open, come to start the system this morning.. all gone.. nothing.. just a new firefox.. all my history.. gone... this is not good, as the 5 spacial tabs that i had where from seriten sits that need to be their,and now.. just gone.. the lot... and all the setting are correct..

The details:

1.) After downloading the update, my antivirus scanner reports an infected file (see screenshots / message + path).

2.) When I try to “Restart Firefox to complete the update,” Firefox briefly “disappears” (whatever happens there) and then “reappears”—but the prompt “Restart Firefox to complete the update” is still there. Unfortunately, this can be repeated as many times as you like without anything changing.

3.) Restarting the computer (Platform: macOS Tahoe 26.5.1) does not resolve the issue either (see screenshot). I always performed previous updates before shutting down the computer—and the next day (since Firefox, as expected, had been closed and restarted), the updated version of Firefox was running.

4.) The suggested solution is to download the “Firefox installer.” But that doesn’t help me, since I need “Firefox DEVELOPER.”

Would uninstalling Firefox DEVELOPER and reinstalling it >WITHOUT DATA LOSS< be a solution??
