This probably is mentioned in the above-linked article, but just in case:

When you have a problem with one particular site, a good "first thing to try" is clearing your Firefox cache and deleting your saved cookies for the site.

(1) Bypass Firefox's Cache

Use Ctrl+Shift+r to reload the page fresh from the server.

Alternately, you also can clear Firefox's cache completely using:

orange Firefox button (or Tools menu) > Options > Advanced

On the Network mini-tab > Cached Web Content : "Clear Now"

If you have a large hard drive, this might take a few minutes.

(2) Remove the site's cookies (save any pending work first). While viewing a page on the site, try either:

  • right-click and choose View Page Info > Security > "View Cookies"
  • Alt+t (open the classic Tools menu) > Page Info > Security > "View Cookies"

In the dialog that opens, you can remove the site's cookies individually.

Then try reloading the page. Does that help?

No, I have problems with other sites that have a pop-down type data entry field. An example is where I want a car part were you select the make, model & year of the car from pop-down lists. Some fields work & others don't. I am running Norton anti-virus, no changes on the computer other than the Firefox change from 24.0 to 25.0.1 Sites work OK when using Win Explorer, I an running Win7 Pro.

Uninstall and reinstalling the software fixed it. Thanks for the help. John

Hi ziceman,
Glad it is fixed. Thanks for posting back.

I hope you did not loose any data doing the reinstall.

For others who may read this note that often simple reinstalls fail to solve Firefox problems. What may help is a clean reinstall where the Program files are deleted. (NOT the profile files). That is however is not usually the first remedial step suggested as even a clean reinstall fails to solve a lot of Firefox problems.
