Firefox is opening "invisible" windows that I can't access or close.
For the last several weeks, I've been having real problems with FF (17.0.1; iMac, OS 10.6.8) Most recently, it doesn't allow Java to work where it always had.
I've tried opening in "safe" mode, and that seems to be OK at least as far as Java is concerned. But when I restart, I see multiple invisible windows, i.e., windows that appear as blank lines when I pull down the Window tab. I can't access them or close them, but I think they're symptomatic of whatever is causing the other problems I've been experiencing, e.g., when I click on the FF icon in the box, the minimized window will not reopen.

You can check for problems with the sessionstore.js and sessionstore.bak files in the Firefox Profile Folder that store session data.
Delete the sessionstore.js file and possible sessionstore-##.js files with a number and sessionstore.bak in the Firefox Profile Folder.
- Help > Troubleshooting Information > Profile Directory: Open Containing Folder
- http://kb.mozillazine.org/Profile_folder_-_Firefox
Deleting sessionstore.js will cause App Tabs and Tab Groups and open and closed (undo) tabs to get lost, so you will have to create them again (make a note or bookmark them).
That worked for a few days, but now I'm back to being unable to quit FF without force-quitting, and again it won't let me use Java commands on pages.
And once again I can't deminimize FF by clicking on its icon in the Dock.
