I got a private message from a Facebook "friend" and somehow I ended up with Infoaxe on my computer. It has pretty much taken over from Firefox and that's not what I want. I want to remove Infoaxe, but don't know how. It now opens with Google.

This happened

Every time Firefox opened

== I mistakenly answered a private message from a Facebook "friend".

Just go to Tools->Options in Firefox and set your homepage to what ever you like. For example: http://www.google.com

This is what i got from infoaxe website:

How can I uninstall/remove Infoaxe?

Uninstalling Infoaxe from your browser is extremely easy. For firefox, Go to Tools->Addons->Infoaxe Firefox Toolbar. Now click on uninstall and restart your browser. For Internet Explorer (I.E) go to Control Panel ->Add or Remove Programs -> Internet Explorer Infoaxe Toolbar and remove it.

i think it should be: tools>add-ons>extensions>infoaxe firefox toolbar.

Doesn't work. None of these suggestions work Going the Tools/Add-on's route doesn't work because it doesn't show this program

Hi,

I had the same problem. Whoever does not see Infoaxe in the Addon->Extensions menu, it's normal, you have uninstalled Infoaxe, but haven't gotten rid of the address bar default search engine which is still infoaxe (Infoaxe shows Google's page with an Infoaxe bar on top).

Here is what you should do in Firefox:

To change Firefox address bar search to google search do as follows:-

At Firefox address bar, enter about:config and press ENTER.
   At Filter: field, type keyword.url
You should see a Preference name of keyword.URL in the list. Double click it, Enter String Value input box will appear.
   Replace the string with: http://www.google.com.my/search?q=
Click OK button and you are done!

Good luck! :)
