How do I eliminate Beta profile so earlier TB will run
For some unknown reason, my old TB was updated to Beta version 73. One of the problems was that bcc. was restricted to one person per email. I thought that by downloading version 68, everything might return to normal. Instead when trying to open TB, I get the message below. Now neither version of TB will open.
How do I revert to my old version of TB (the one before Beta reared it's ugly head).
If that is not possible, how do I eliminate the Beta profile, which I can't see, so that version 68 will open?

Close TB, Winkey+R, type thunderbird.exe -p --allow-downgrade
That will display Profile Manager, where you can choose the profile, and open one with 68 that was previously opened in 73. You can also create a new profile with 68 so the downgrade argument isn't necessary.

Followed what you said, but at "Thunderbird - User Profile" all that is shown is "default". Is that version 68? Should I click "Start Thunderbird" at the bottom? I tried to send a copy of this, but always encountered an error.
How many versions of TB are installed? Look in Program Files and Program Files (x86). What are the names of the folders in this location:
C:\Users\username\AppData\Roaming\Thunderbird\Profiles
AppData is hidden by default.
I had the computer search for Thunderbird once I was in C:/users/free/ and there are two copies of version 68.4.1 dated in 2020. There are earlier versions dated 2019 and 2018. I presume these were overwritten.
Should I try deleting one of the 68.4.1 copies?
Delete all TB programs, then download and run the full 32-bit installer from thunderbird.net Deleting/uninstalling/reinstalling doesn't affect your data in the profile folder.
Deleted TB from the Win 10 Apps. When I clicked on the thunderbird.net, it took me to the TB download page. But downloading version 68 brought the same message that began this query.
Should I press the "Create New Profile"?
Yes, create a new profile. Data from the old profile can be copied to the new one if necessary.
Thank you sfhowes. Creating a new profile allowed me to open TB. On Friday I will transfer all my contacts and items under Local Folders.
