I want to use Material icons font in my project. but it shows a strange icon. not icon, a word. but in other browsers it shows correct.

You may have webfonts disabled on your browser, which would prevent Firefox from loading that custom font that you have installed in your website's CSS. Do the following:
- Open the Firefox settings
- Go to the General tab
- Go to the Fonts & Colors tab
- Press the Advanced... button
- Ensure that the Allow pages to choose their own fonts, instead of your selections above box is checked
- Restart Firefox
