The number of retained messages or the time to retain messages sent to trash is too small. I'd like to be able to keep 25 messages or a months worth.

Incidentally, messages left in new messages seem to disappear mysteriously and there seems to be no way to adjust the retention of messages.

Most email providers are the ones that set limits on the Trash folder. Have you checked your account on the providers webmail site to see if there are any limits there?
