Hi Yttar, thank you for the screenshot. That's a message from Google. It isn't caused by a Firefox setting, it's something on that site and some others.

I don't think that this message is part of the basic Firefox installation.

Can you attach a screenshot?

In Firefox 56+ the "Warn me when web sites try to redirect or reload the page" setting can no longer be found in Options/Preferences.

You can modify this pref on the about:config page to enable or disable this feature

The "Warn me when web sites try to redirect or reload the page" warning is meant as an accessibility feature so people with disabilities or people who use screen readers do not get confused and isn't meant as a safety protection to stop redirecting.

Start Firefox in Safe Mode to check if one of the extensions ("3-bar" menu button or Tools -> Add-ons -> Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem.

  • switch to the DEFAULT theme: "3-bar" menu button or Tools -> Add-ons -> Appearance
  • do NOT click the "Refresh Firefox" button on the Safe Mode start window

I don't know if you received my earlier message but I now resend it.

The image you requested is attached.

When I select an article on for example Google News, a new tab opens with this message. I must agree before the new page is displayed.

I have already toggled "accessibility.blockautorefresh" without curing the problem.

Thank you for hour consideration.

When I initially try to look at the screenshot then it didn't came up, only the small thumbnail worked but was to small to see any detail.

Some (Google) pages show a message when you open an external link and leave their website. I don't know if you can disable the confirmation in the Google settings when you are logged in.
