We use Smart Mail and now when you reply to someone's e-mail the entire e-mail is converted to html code. Is there a setting to fix this?

Sorry, that type of setting wouldn't be in Firefox. It would be in Preferences for Smarter Mail. Check the FAQ's for that web mail software or check with your IT staff to see how to enable Rich Text Format for that program.
