Why 'Google' is not there on the left side of central Search Box ?
Whenever I open the default start page, I always find that 'Google' is not there on the left side of central Search Box. There it is blank. If I search anything from there, it is done by 'speedbit.com' not by 'Google'. Before a week, I wanted to download 'Video Download Accelerator' from Internet Explorer. 'speedbit.com' appeared at that time. I successfully removed it from there. But from Firefox I failed to remove it. On searching I came to know that 'speedbit.com' performs search job also. But I don't want it there. How can I remove it ?

To set google as your default search engine..
go to address bar
type about:config
search for keyword.URL
use http://google.com/search?q= as the string value.
Thanks for your reply and suggestion. But it did not work. I tried search for http://google.... once from centrally located search box and again from Google search box located at upper right corner. In former case search was done by speedbit.com and in later case obviously by Google. In both the cases only some URLs of Google appeared. Only searching could not help change of default search engine.
Try this;
Type about:home on address bar.
Options > General tab >
From startup;
When firefox starts : Show my homepage
Select Restore to Default as homepage.
