Site preferences aren't remembered

Whenever I log into a site and it has the option to "remember me" meaning it'll auto log me in next time I visit. Even though I check that option, if I happen to restart firefox or my computer I have to retype in that information. Even though in my options I have it set to where cookies (both third-party and not) are to be kept until they expire. I don't understand why it's doing this. I didn't have this problem in the versions before 5.0, so why now?

Do not use Delete browsing, search and download history on Firefox to clear the "Cookies" and the "Site Preferences"

Clearing "Site Preferences" clears all exceptions for cookies, images, pop-up windows, software installation, and passwords.

That's kind of weird though because I always had that checked in older versions and it didn't erase it. But I did what you suggested and it seems to work. However my only problem now is that it doesn't seem to remember anything from things like a xat chat box. If I restart I end up having to relog that all over again.

Do you have an Allow cookie exception for that website?

  • Tools > Page Info > Permissions

Do other cookies still work after restarting?

Do you still see that cookie in he Cookie Manager?

  • Tools > Options > Privacy > Cookies: "Show Cookies"
