All of the search engines in my Search bar disappeared so when I type something in and hit "Enter", it can't search. How do I get Google back?

I restarted my computer this morning (Windows 7 Enterprise, 6.1) and all of the search engine options in the search bar in the upper right corner of Firefox were gone, so when I type something in the box and hit "Enter", nothing happens. When I click on the icon that normally allows you to change the search engine, nothing comes up except "Manage Search Engines" and that tells me that I have no search engines installed. I briefly looked in Firefox Add-Ons but it doesn't seem easy to get them back from there. I'm running Firefox 4.0.1, and Add-Ons are enabled. Can you help me get Google back?

Click on "Manage Search Engines" which you found (which is normally at then end of the list) then click on "Restore Defaults".

You you had a lot of search engines or even just more than 8, I'd would try one thing before destroying anything. Take a picture of your toolbars before starting like the article indicates.

Thanks for the suggestion, but the "Restore Defaults" button is greyed out, so I can't click on it. Maybe I need to just reinstall Firefox?
