Hello,

Is there any way to recover all login's, bookmarks, settings after changing my password on a new computer? I know why it happens, but I can prove through 2nd authentication that it is my account. But I lost all data from at least 10 years of use.
I do still have my old PC currently not on network 'thank the gods'. Is there a way to recover all the data through that?

Thanks for any help.

P.S. I think this security feature should be able to be turned of by each user (at their own risk).

If this is about the password of the Sync account and you have reset this password then the answer is no, there is no way to get access to the data you previously stored on the Sync server. This is because an encryption key is derived from this password and is used locally to encrypt your data before it is uploaded to the Sync server, so all data stored on the Sync server is encrypted with this key. If you reset the password then another key would be generated and that key can't decrypt the old data on the Sync server and thus is this old data removed. That is how Sync works and also note that Sync is meant to sync data between other devices connected to this Sync account and is not designed to be used as a backup.

Weren't you warned that your data on the Sync server would be removed when you reset the password ?

Thanks for replying.

I did not see a warning. That being said it was one of many passwords I had to reset and I have never heard of a Password being used in this manner. Why not just trust in Multiple auth?

So even if I access my old PC, there isn't a way to migrate the information?

P.S. Sorry for the double post, my original had a weird scrolling thing that I couldn't edit out.

P.S.S. I just checked the email sent me and it 100% did not have any warning either.
