Corrupted Inbox

Inbox suddenly became corrupted -some messages failed to show at all, others gobbledegook. Tried a Repair to the Inbox folder as suggested - and they disappeared completely. (Approx 200 messages) (Inbox and all other features now working perfectly) Can I retrieve the lost mail ?

Is this a unified inbox in the unified folder view?

Thanks Matt - it is not a unified inbox. I have four accounts- all other boxes are working perfectly, as is the one where the 'event' happened. Mail prior to, and subsequent, is fine. But I have 'lost' around 200 messages, I think. It is not the end of the world, though, and as far as I can remember there is nothing in the 'lost' batch of huge importance. But it would be nice to know !
