Sent folder in thunderbird disappears. While sending mail, error message comes saying sent message can't be saved. How to fix the problem?

Look at Account Settings -> Copies & Folders "When sending messages, automatically:" and make sure you are asking it to place a copy in an existing folder. If you choose "Sent" Folder on: 'Local Folders' and you don't have a Sent folder, you can create one by right clicking on 'Local Folders' and choosing 'New Folder'.
