About Firefox says 33.0 and Firefox is up to date.

What version of Lightning will install and work with Firefox 33? 

I tried lightning-3.5b1-tb+sm-mac.xpi  and got an error message that it was incompatible with Firefox 33

I've never installed or used Lightning before.

https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/using-lightning-calendar-add-on Lightning is for Thunderbird, not for Firefox.

IIRC, there was a version of Lightning for Firefox years ago, like around the time of Firefox 3.0 or 3.5, but nothing since then.
