a few days ago i noticed the fire fox would not start up after i let computer go into sleep. i have ver. 22.0 i upgraded to ver.23.0 and same thing. so i uninstalled it and went back to ver 16.0 now today i see a ad in the lower right of the screen that says show add. i right clicked and bigfins came up in the box. is this a virus? running avg now to see. but

i have not added any programs for weeks and did not have the issue with the fire fox failing to start after the sleep mode. so what happened there?

need that fixed and the lower right popup fixed. that lower right popup covers all items under it and i can click to make it move to the left but i still see it. it must be a virus?

Sometimes a problem with Firefox may be a result of malware installed on your computer, that you may not be aware of.

You can try these free programs to scan for malware, which work with your existing antivirus software:

Microsoft Security Essentials is a good permanent antivirus for Windows 7/Vista/XP if you don't already have one.

Further information can be found in the Troubleshoot Firefox issues caused by malware article.
