How come Firefox uses a window managers (like KWin that I'm using) own title bar instead of drawing it's own? Like, say, the standard option for Google Chrome on GNU/Linux, that draws its own "title bar" which saves quite a bit on space and therefore also looks prettier and is more efficient. Especially on screens with lower resolutions. So why is this? Is it to look more uniform independent of which desktop environment or is it something else?

It is not uncommon for GNU/Linux software to adopt elements of the desktop environment (I have seen the same thing happen with GIMP in my copy of Ubuntu) and the same happens with Firefox on other operating systems.

Having common elements helps the software fit better into the operating system (visually), but if you want to do something a little different, I am sure that one of the many GNU/Linux forums will be able to provide some assistance.
