downloading files get changed to .bin extension

Hi all

When I download epub per PDF files, they come down as .bin files and I can't do anything with them. Any clues. Thanks so much Chris

I am using Mozilla Firefox on Samsung Galaxy A5 phone (Android version 4.4.4) since 2016. I last used Firefox on my phone yesterday. Today, when I wanted to browse internet, I noticed that Mozilla Firefox app has been removed from my phone. When I visited Google Play Store, the app was unavailable in search. Since the app has has vanished from phone, I tried to open the download link on Mozilla.org website in Chrome, it is not working (https://app.adjust.com/2uo1qc?redirect=https%3A%2F%2Fplay.google.com%2Fstore%2Fapps%2Fdetails%3Fid%3Dorg.mozilla.firefox&campaign=www.mozilla.org&adgroup=mobile-android-page) I am in a fix! Downloads that failed, and then were re-tried dont download correctly

So I am trying to download some large files, but the server I am downloading from are extremely slow. My place doesnt have stable internet connection and during my download, almost 100% of the time, it fails. Now there is a "Try again" button that can continue downloading the file in firefox after the connection is back. When I press the button, it resumes the download from where it was, but I noticed that the files are not downloaded correctly. The file size is noticeably smaller than what it should be, and it is non-functional. My phone uses android 11 custom rom (lineage), but the same issue is also present on an older, stock anroid phone I have. This issue has been present for at least half a year and I dont know a solution. Can anyone suggest a solution?
