I download then open many student files each day. PDFs open fine automatically, but never Word files. In the Applications settings dialog, I have tried to choose the file format docx and doc. But neither are recognised as a valid file type. I realise that Microsoft is a bully and Mozilla may be trying to discourage its use, but I and the students are stuck with Word. How come docs and doc are invalid and how can I persuade Firefox to open them?

Hello, I have encountered a lasting issue: Firefox' telemetry collection process causes a cmd window to pop up briefly. The windows sometimes lingers a split second later, and if I accidentally click it at that time, whatever program I'm in will get minimized and I'm back on the desktop with cmd window at front. You might want to have a look at that, I disable my telemetry for time being. Firefox version is 99.0.1 (64 bits), operating system is Win10 10.0.19043. Respond for other data you might need. A subscription service I purchased (Kine Mania TV) has on several occasions gone to a porn site. I have enjoyed many hours of wholesome TV series and movies at Kine Mania TV - but HATE it when smut shows up instead! Please advise - this is scary stuff for an old lady. I opened Firefox as usually, but passwords are missing, only logins are available. There is also a file called logins.json-1.corrupt in the profile folder.

Renaming it back to logins.json with restarting the computer does not work.

There are no previous versions of these two files available in the system.

Please let me know how I can recover passwords, may be with a special software.

something new-- I can't sign in to my att account like I always have. I can still log in on older win 7 and android devices. Only this win10 desktop is now having problems today. Any suggestions?

I use Kaspersky for my internet security. I choose the 'Safe Money' option for many other sites...but cannot connect sign on with my bank. Because the page always comes up asking for me to choose a browser. I down load and update the firefox site. This does nothing except giving me multiple firefox updates! What is happening and how can I stop having this issue pop up? The other sites on 'Safe Money' are not banking sites, but still need security. Do I have to change browsers? with firefox, drag and drop for attachments is not working using macOS High sierra, and outlook emails. It works ok in Chrome but I dont want to change over. I deleted cache and cookies and restarted. It worked ok for a while but stopped working agaiin.

Firefox is still automatically downloading files to a default directory, even though I have selected "Always ask you where to save files". This is a security risk. I want to be asked BEFORE the file is downloaded so I can choose the location or choose not to download. Thanks...Jim.

All my bookmarks on my toolbar vanished, even though they're still listed as being bookmarked on the toolbar, and the toolbar itself is still present. Only around 2 or 3 times have they actually shown up within the past month or so with all of the times I start up Firefox. What's the deal?

I went into setting and Firefox is not on the list of defaults. I think the issue is that I downloaded Firefox through the website and not the MS app store. Because when I open the "Look for the app in Microsoft Store" tab on the default list, it opens the store and lets me download Firefox again. I wouldn't mind doing this but it downloads it to my C drive and I need it on my F drive because my C drive is my SSD and is used for only Windows and because Windows keep getting bigger and bigger, I am running out of storage on it. When I try to move the newly downloaded Firefox to my F drove through the "Apps & Features" menu where you can uninstall apps. It tells me Firefox can't be moved. So there seems to be a communication error between windows and the none app store download.

The pics show the default option first with Firefox downloaded from the web not being there (setting 1), then Firefox being there (setting 3), and last the failure to move the files to the F drive (setting 2). Any help would be great. Thanks.

Since this morning Firefox keeps crashing on my PC, not only tabs, but the whole browser. I've sent countless reports so far. There is no error message. Is there a problem with Firefox today, or there may be another issue? Please help, thanks.

Firefox asked to refresh, as it had kept crashing, I did. I see the 'Old Firefox Data' file, on my desktop, and then followed the instructions to about:profiles. Then I opened the Local Directory, right click and pasted. I then restarted Firefox, and I got nothing back. Help! Thanks!
