Suddenly almost everytime I load a YouTube video I have to watch 2 - 4 min of ads, sometimes two in a row before the video starts. I no longer have the skip ad button. If I load the same link in Chrome or Edge I don't have this problem. My search engine is Duck Duck Go, but if I go to Google first and then to the video I still have the problem. I also have the Maleware Bytes ad blocker installed. Any suggestions?

For context, I accidentally made my root D: folder into the downloads folder and during this time I was still able to download using firefox. But when I finally changed the folder to my default one, firefox stopped being able to download anything larger than 1gb files. I can still download small images but anything larger than that I can't download. Else, it would only just show "Failed" in the downloads bar.

I've tried: 1. Changing the download location

I can't download on firefox but the same files I can download on Chrome.

Scrolling in Firefox is causing any webpage to scroll many lines at once with a single click, and it seems to be exclusively happening to Firefox, as every other application scrolls normally. I have tried searching here and elsewhere for a solution, and I have tried to change about:config settings based on the recommendations I could find to no avail. I have also tried to refresh Firefox and have used Troubleshoot Mode, but those too have not worked. I have no clue as to what could have caused this, as I have not been messing with any settings prior to this.

DRM(?) content not playing, no solutions working

In the last week or so, iPlayer, All4, and Spotify (that I know of) have stopped working in the Firefox browser. All4's error suggests DRM isn't enabled, the others just … (மேலும் படிக்க)

In the last week or so, iPlayer, All4, and Spotify (that I know of) have stopped working in the Firefox browser. All4's error suggests DRM isn't enabled, the others just say try again. Roll20 hasn't been working for even longer (more like months). They work in Microsoft Edge and Chrome. Youtube is still working, as are video players in social media.

I have tried the following solutions:

  • Firefox is up to date
  • Windows is up to date
  • Updated graphics drivers
  • 'Widevine Content Decryption Module provided by Google Inc.' is set to 'Always Activated' and is up to date
  • 'Play DRM-controlled' content is ticked in about:preferences
  • Checked if anything changed if either of the above were turned off (it did not)
  • media.eme.enabled is set to true in about:config
  • Put Firefox in troubleshooting mode
  • Turned off my addons (including uBlock Origin) manually
  • Tried in a Private Browsing window
  • Turned off Tracking Protection
  • Restarted my laptop

Nothing has fixed the problem, or given me any more indication of what is wrong. I don't know how to a) fix or b) find the problem. All I can think is that it may be related to the recent changes to Chromium regarding ad-blockers? But no one else seems to be having the same problem so I doubt it.

I recently switched ISP and now when I try to google anything with firefox I keep getting this message appear:

"Our systems have detected unusual traffic from your computer network. This page checks to see if it's really you sending the requests, and not a robot."

It prompts me to click 'I am not a robot' then pick out which lights have cars etc in them. Worked fine before the ISP change. Some notes:

- This does not occur on Microsoft Edge or Chrome. - The only add on I have is Ublock but it still does this when I have that disabled. Plus I have Ublock on Edge and there are no issues.

If it's my IP address, then why does this ONLY appear when I use Firefox? Surely it would also appear when using google on any browser if my IP address was in question...

From what I am reading online, my only option is to either: - Use a different search engine ; or - Use a different browser.

I'm curious to hear other people's thoughts on this.

I always set Firefox to open the previous sessions tabs when starting. For some reason during the start up over the past several days Firefox opens to the home page only. I then have to search the history to find the closed tabs. Except for this problem, Firefox is working perfectly.

Does anyone have any suggestions as to why this is going wrong and a possible way to fix it?

Today a website told me I needed to enable JavaScript in order to continue, despite the fact that it is enabled. At first, when I received this message, I turned off the "NoScript" extension and tried again, but the website still gave me that same message. So then I went to the about:config page. and it showed that JavaScript is enabled because it showed a value of "true". This sort of thing has happened more than once in the past. I'm forced to go to another browser such Microsoft Edge or Chrome, where I do not encounter this problem. Why is this happening in Firefox, and what can I do about it? Another thing is whenever I try and upload a file onto a site it crashes as well. I'm on Mac OS x 13 and reinstalling firefox hasn't fixed it. This is relatively sudden, it happened about around 3 days ago for the first time, and at the same time I noticed it happening certain sites also started giving me '502 Bad Gateway' errors. Does anyone know what's happening and how to fix it? Thanks in advance!

When I display the access icon in the URL address bar, it shows " you have granted the website additional permissions" , but the site does not display in the FF Settings-Location Box, and the target website does allow me access based on location. All the help I have found Googling, or using search here, says go to the Add-ons Manager page and right-click the extension and use "pin to toolbar". Alternatively click the extension and click the gear icon and use "pin to toolbar". But when I right-click there is no pin to toolbar context menu entry. If I left-click the gear I get "Check for Updates, View Recent Updates, Install Add-on From File, Debug Add-ons, Update Add-ons Automatically, Reset All Add-ons to Update Automatically, Manage Extension Shortcuts". If I right-click the gear I get a line of icons (left, right, reload, star) followed by "Open Image in New Tab, Copy Image Link, Email Image, Save Page As, Select All, View Pate Source, Inspect Accessibility Properties, Inspect (Q)". If I right-click the extension in the Add-ons Manager page itself, I get a very similar list. In no case is there a pin to toolbar option.

How do I pin an extension, given the above? What have I messed up?

On specific websites when I click on a pdf link, Firefox opens and automatically saves the file to Downloads folder without asking whether to save and where to save despite the above settings. As far as I remember, on other websites when clicking a pdf link Firefox only opens the corresponding file and doesn't save.

I tried opening an .md file with Firefox. It seems that this was a bad idea. Now, my browser keeps opening new tabs indefinitely. I tried rebooting my computer (I am using Ubuntu), I tried removing the handlers.json files from the .modzilla folder in my home directory, but it has no effect: whenever I try to open Firefox this infinite loop goes on right were I left it closing the browser. Please help so I can use it again! Best.
