How can I delete pictures in my photo file?

I have hundreds of duplicates and unwanted pictures in my photo file which I'd like deleted. I tried clicking on these and highlighting them, but can't delete them. Can you help?

Make sure that you use Windows Explorer or another file manager to manage those images and not Firefox.
