This was quite a handy option, has it been removed and if so, why?

View Downloads in what way?

There are some extra options accessible via the right-click context menu in the Download Manager (Tools > Downloads)

Currently, you have to reveal the menu bar using <ALT> to access your downloads, or add the downloads button to the toolbar. Keep in mind that 4.0 is still a beta, so the Firefox button menu is still incomplete; an option to view the Downloads window will most likely be added in the future. If you'd like, you can file a bug report requesting the feature at https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/

Thanks, I've got the menu bar back now so all is good ;)

Saying that, it would be nice if if there was some way to disable the 'Page Information' bit which appears above the Menu Bar.

I quite like how that is not there when the menu bar is disabled and the new orange tab thing is there.

hey...

mmmm you can view your downloads by click on the keyboard ( Alt ) key that will view menu bar for U ... after that go to ( Tools ) panel then choose ( Downloads ... or U can press shortcut ( Cntrol + J ) .........

see U around !!

It's quite easy. Just go to Options then Toolbar Layout then drag the download icon into your toolbar.

It looks like a downward pointing arrow.

voila!
