the error console erases itself almost immediately for support files

I see error messages flash by in my support files such as javascript or CSS, but they go away faster than I can read them

This happened

Every time Firefox opened

Try asking about that in the Web Developer extension support forum, as it modifies the Error Console functions a bit: http://chrispederick.com/forums/

I see that you have that extension disabled, but maybe it is still causing the Error Console to be cleared like that.
