I experience strange things with Firefox and Flash. Youtube Videos will not be recognized properly and I have to click the play button not once but a couple of times (up to 10 times) until the button gets triggered. Even worse with camera-recognition (for example on Facebook when you want to take a photo with your webcam): the question if I want to allow access to the camera pops up but I can not click anything. It just does not react at all. I already restarted in safe-mode with all add-ons enabled and it did not help...

I pretty much have this same problem with any video based site (youtube or otherwise)

I have a similar problem, not only in youtube but many other flash apps dont seem to display, I get a blank rectangle although the app does work e.g. hearing the audio, clicking the invisible buttons having effect ...

Got the exact same problem like jfabry.

Any visual representation of flash won't show (ads, youtube video). Just the sound plays (if on auto run like youtoube). Clicks in the dark don't do anything. Right click might open context menue, clicks in those menue items won't work either.

Reinstalled Flash 10.1.53.64 and FF 3.6.6 a few times, disabled all other add-ons/plug-ins, w/o any effect.

Mac OS X 10.6.4

Hi,

I having the same problem.. after installing the new Flash It's doesnt show video in youtube but Sound is working..

my SPec iMAC Firefire 3.6.6 MAc Shockwave Flash Shockwave Flash 10.1 r53 10.1.53.64

Hi,

I got the same problem too,

Spec iMAC 2010 version Firefox 366 Shockwave Flash 10.1 r53 10.1.53.64

Youtube load but no video. only sound.

FF 3.6.6, also reverted to FF 3.6.4, started with a blank profile no plugins/ addons

most recent version of flash 10.1.53.64

cnn.com/ youtube etc. don't work

everything fine in Safari, so I dare say it's a Firefox prob?

Mac OS X 10.6.4

I am sure this occurred after the most recent Flash update

Same. Even with all extensions turned off, no flash love.

we need to flush Flash down the iToilet .. ;)

Mac OS 10.6.4 FF 3.6.6 Flash 10.1 r53

Installed and flash is invisible. Just like jfabry, it appears as though flash is playing as I can click on the invisible objects and hear audio, but no visuals.

Uninstalling 10.1 and and reverting back to 10 r45 works, but that hardly counts as a temporary solution.

I have the same problem. Flash elements in a website are slowing things down. Needed to kill plugin-container.exe a number of times to keep from losing the whole session.

Argg... I have the same problem too. Uninstalled flash, and firefox. Nothing is working.

The solution has been posted by Jon Nooning, and I can confirm it. Just downgrade to 10 r45 for now, or use Safari (not affected) ... easy, ain't it? ...

no, not easy, since it doesn't solve the issue. 10.1r53, 10r45, doesn't matter. uninstalling and reinstalling flash does not solve it. starting firefox in safe mode does not solve it. flash movies play in safari just fine, however.

cant start the firefox,, really a problem,,

I installed a fresh 10.5.8 on a client's MBP y-day, ran all Apple software updates, installed FF 3.6.6., ran it. Went to YouTube, fine. CNN videos, fine (they all do not work in 3.6.6 with Flash 10.1 r53). Cannot recall the version of Flash which came either with 10.5.8 or FF 3.6.6 (was in a hurry and had to return the MBP), but above procedure confirms old Flash working without all the hangs of 10.1 r53 in FF 3.x ....

would somebody please post a link to a dmg of the Flash Plugin installer that works? I uninstalled Flash with Adobe's uninstaller (after closing both, FF & S), dled the old Flash Player archive from Adobe, installed the latest before 10.1 r53 which is in there = flashplayer10r45_2_ub_mac.dmg, launched FF 3.6.6, went to YouTube, CNN, the Adobe Flash Player test site, they all say no Flash PlugIn installed at all. I tried the next older dmg in the archive, same thing .. :( uninstalled again, restarted, nothing ..

Jon (or anybody else), how did you successfully revert back to 10 r45 ???

I have a basterd of a problem with 3.6.6.

When I type in an URL, ie, BBC.co.uk, facebook.com, youtube.com, it ALWAYS brings up the google search engine results for whatever web address I type in, and I have to click on a search engine result to go to that site.

The URL will always remain greyed out. However, if I click on a bookmark, it go straight to the site.

It is almost as if my navigation toolbar has turned into a search engine query field.

I am using Snow Leopard with FF 3.6.6

Daren, can you read the thread title? How much do you think does your problem have to do with Adobe Flash? Nothing, right?

There is people subscribed to this thread, and also potentially both, Mozilla and Adobe techs, might (hopefully) be looking in here, so let's please keep postings here on-topic.

Please post your question somewhere appropriate .. ;)

Thanks, Lee

Same for v. 3.6.7. Black rectangle on youtube vids. Sometimes you get a full screen icon that, if clicked, will let you see it but not usually. Audio works fine.

FF is my main browser. I should not have updated the last couple of times. Guess I'll switch to Chrome until this gets fixed. Chrome works well at the moment on osx 10.5.x
