what's the secret to Mozilla search bar?

I search for "desktop" and it returns "Web pages" "page" along with desktop. None of the 81 results answer the query, "what is the desktop site?" in settings. Why? Why return random words? Why don't Boolean operators work? Please tell me the trick to searching, it's becoming a daily routine.

If you're not going to read the question, please don't bother replying. " Enter a relevant search term and look through the results" That's either sarcastic or condescending. Either way it doesn't help.

Hi

I am sorry, I am not quite sure what your question is.

If you enter a search term in the address bar and search for it, the search engine you have selected will return results for you to browse.

Sorry. The search bar in Mozilla support. It searches through all the products they make. It returns (lists articles and questions and community responses and highlights a word) search results not found in the search terms. Search for "desktop" and it returns "web" and "website" and no "desktop". Paul, my question is actually what does "Desktop Site" in settings do? The search found ZERO results. Hi

It is a compatibility tool to help when the website is not quite designed to display on a mobile device.

Show Desktop site in the Settings menu on a mobile device means that you get the website as shown on a desktop device as opposed to view optimized for a mobile device. You usually have to zoom such a website or rotate the view 90 degrees to be able to see it the text clearly.

Okay well I appreciate the information about the desktop site my question is about the search bar. It did not return results that you have mentioned. How do I get it to return pertinent results associated with search terms? I don't want to have to post my question in the support section every time I look something up.

I tried search for "desktop" and by filtering the results by "help articles only", I do see relevant content.

I would suggest that you enter a search term relevent for what you need to know, them look through the results to find the content that helps you.

The challenge we have is that when we enter a search term, we do see results connected to that search term.

We are using the search tool regularly to find support articles and, while everything could be improved, it generally works fine.
