My laptop and phone work but the browser on my pc keeps failing to connect. I can't see anything wrong with the settings (I've moved between proxy and auto proxy but no difference. Tor browser works okay

I've noticed I keep having problems connceting to my yahoo mail too, keep getting no connection pop up even when other tabs are working

Type about:preferences#advanced<Enter> in the address box.

Under Advanced, Select Network.

[56+] Type about:preferences#general<enter> in the address box. Look for Network. +++++++++++++++++++++ Look for Configure How Firefox Connects and press the Settings button. If you are using a proxy, make sure those settings are correct. If there is no proxy, first try No Proxy. If there is a problem, then try System Proxy.

Some problems occur when your Internet security program was set to trust the previous version of Firefox, but no longer recognizes your updated version as trusted. Now how to fix the problem: To allow Firefox to connect to the Internet again;

  • Make sure your Internet security software is up-to-date (i.e. you are running the latest version).
  • Remove Firefox from your program's list of trusted or recognized programs. For detailed instructions, see

Configure firewalls so that Firefox can access the Internet. {web link}

I tried this, along with the aboout:config aolutions I could find but with no luck

My laptop works okay with both proxy and auto but I had to uninstall my vpn before the latest FF would update properly (which I did from the download not the in browser updater). I tried this on my pc but it still won't load pages, there is a dot rocking on the tab but it won't load a full page.

I tried amending thne https permissions too

I'll turn it off for an hour or two and do something else, that seems to be a good solution sometimes

I thik I've resolved this. The update installed but the software in the browser was still searching for it. I noticed that the updates in the settings area keeps spinning, so by closing FF then restarting it on the systems page, it seems to have cleared the problem

That was very good work. Well Done. Please flag your last post as Solved Problem as this can help others with similar problems. Go to that post and click the 'Solved' button to its right.
