I seem to have lost the bookmarks - so I searched help, found out how to restore using the library window...but as I select a previous dated restore point (any of them) I obviously am told first that "this will replace..." etc. OK so I go ahead but then get a very terse error "Unable to process the backup file" So I searched on that found some tools to convert backups to html to be reimported...

But here's my question...I use sync across to other machines (android phone + another win10 laptop) - will either a) these other machines serve as "repositories" I could more simply sync to and recover - if so how? b) me importing the recovered HTMl (from json) backup somehow spoil those machines own copies of the bookmarks in thee next sync? WORSE - I also seem to have lost all the passwords...I see my profile as "default" and I am logged in the same name as on the other machines.... any advice is welcomed and TIA Phil
