Can I open gmail links in a different container?

I use a separate container for gmail, so google can't connect my gmail usage to google analytics showing up in other pages. But when I open a link from gmail, I would like it to go to a separate container, either one container per site, or just one big container for all links opened from gmail. For example, someone sends me a link to a nytimes.com article and when I click on it, I want to not have to type in my nytimes login again but I also want it to be separate from my gmail login. This seems not to be possible in vanilla firefox (am I wrong?) but is there an extension that allows this behavior? If my entire question is based on a naive idea of privacy, I'm open to hearing that too. :) Thanks in advance for any help.
