Firefox is closed and not open. I don't open or start it but it starts on its own and opens a webpage. I will list the pages this happened more than once. the pages are: https://www.msn.com/ar-sa/?ocid=wispr&pc=u477 https://www.msn.com/g00/ar-sa/?ocid=wispr&pc=u477&i10c.ua=2&i10c.encReferrer=&i10c.dv=20 http://www.msn.com/?ocid=wispr&pc=u477 Same website with different URLs which scares me. Let me know what is wrong and how does this happen?

Is this when you boot the computer?

Firefox starts automatically when I restart Windows {web link}

No. I am using my device for example, listening to audio or playing a game. The game exits and Firefox starts.

How are you calling whatever? With Firefox? A shortcut?

I don't understand the question. If you are asking about how I am sending these replies then the answer is with Firefox.

Hello randyredfield123 ,

This happened (and still does) with other browsers as well (in different ways and for different reasons).

See this long thread on Microsoft support forum.

Would be nice if what solved the problem (see the last post on page 6) would work for you too.

As opposed to what it says in the header of the thread: this does not just happen at startup, but randomly, regardless of what the OP is doing (just like you).

Thank you. This is not applicable to my situation as I do not have wireless in the first place but now I know that it is a common issue and not only with me so this puts me at ease.

Please describe in detail what you are doing. What programs (not Firefox) were you using?

What solved the problem in that last post, was just one of the many possibilities in that thread, though. But I'm sure that you read everything that was suggested there and that nothing was helpful for you.

Would you please take a look at this thread :

I am playing EFT and nothing else is running. no other programs are open. suddenly the game minimizes to the system tray and Firefox runs and opens msn.

I tried the solution and hopefully the problem will not occur.

Please keep us posted, will you ?

This "MSN phenomenon" is a real pain in the derrière and happens in all browsers from time to time.

I will give it some time to see if it happens. reckon by the end of this week is good enough time to conclude that the issue is fixed?

I went to see if I could find some more information and found this :

(I'm posting this just in case the nuisance comes back)

I sure hope so !

But should it come back, you let us know, okay ?

Then we'll just have to keep looking for another (better) way to get
rid of it.

If it is not fixed I will for sure let you know. Thank you both for the help it is much appreciated.
