Hi,

I have spent hours dealing with this issue. I hope someone is able to assist me.

I ran into some issues with Firefox so I went to reinstall it but I am unable to open it. I noticed even after uninstalling it it was still showing up when I do control/alt/del. I have tried to close it but it won't close. I have tried almost every option I can find online to force close it.

My issue is when trying to open my new version of Firefox I am told I have a version running and must close it.

I have tried to delete it I don't know how many times.

I am running Windows 10.

Is someone able to assist me? It would greatly be appreciated.

I hope someone can help me as this is getting very frustrating.

Thank you .

Problem Solved!

Who would have ever thought "Customer Support" from another product would put me on the right track to resolve my issue.

Solution:

1) Go into Safe Mode with Networking 2) Open up Task Manager 3) Delete all copies Firefox which are open 4) Restart computer

When my computer restarted my problem was solved as Firefox opened up on the restart.

Hi,

Thank you for your response.

I didn't get back to you until for two reasons.

1) I went out and purchased a product called, "FixMeStick". I hoped if there was a virus causing this issue this would find it.

2) The other day I actually managed to restore my computer back a few days. This solved my issue.

However, I just ran my "FixMeStick" which I bought a couple of days ago. I am back with the Firefox issue.

My system is Windows 10.

The version I am running is 71.

I hope someone is able to solve my issue.

Thank you,

Greg Shaw

Did you check the links I posted?

Yes I did.

I was looking at creating a new profile but get the feeling that has to be done from Firefox?

I have tried to unlock my profile but with no success. I actually ended up deleting my whole profile but seems to come back since restoring my system.

I don't know if there is a virus that is why I purchased this device called, "FixMeStick".

I called for more help.

Thank you very much!

It was suggested to me by "Customer Support" at "FixMeStick" to "Reset" Firefox.

This is an option I have already looked at but the challenge is you need to be in Firefox. It was then suggested trying to do this in Safe Mode which I will explore.

I can't say enough about the "Customer Support" at "FireMeStick" so if anyone reading this is every considering this product, just know their support is fantastic.

That was very good work. Well Done.

Hi,

Actually, my solution worked at the time but still having this issue. Clearly there is something going on with my system causing me this issue. I am also have similar issues with Google Chrome.

Too bad there is no way to actually contact Firefox directly.

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.
