Firefox 55.0.3 (64-bit) Mac OS 10.13 (2017/09/25) Fresh Installation. No add-ons, extensions, plugins, or blockers. All data cleared (cookies, history, etc.)

Same machine runs youtube videos in Firefox under Sierra without problem. VLC stream of same video works fine under High Sierra.
