All of the pop up said that Microsoft was letting me know and included this phone number 1-888-659-1228 to contact for further assistance. Just checking to see if you feel this is legit?

That sounds totally bogus. They probably are an advertiser wanting to subscribe you to their service for a couple hundred dollars are year. Avoid! Avoid!

Do you use Microsoft's Windows Defender software on your computer, or a non-Microsoft security program? Something? Anything?
