Most of my favorite websites are blocked by this horrible new feature of checking certificates. Examples are google, facebook, etc. I never had this problem before. I want to disable that feature so I can use this browser

There is security software like Avast and Kaspersky and BitDefender and ESET that intercept secure connections and send their own certificate.

Open the "Add Security Exception" window by pasting this chrome URL in the Firefox location/address bar and check the certificate:

  • chrome://pippki/content/exceptionDialog.xul

In the location field of this window type or paste the URL of the website.

  • retrieve the certificate via the "Get certificate" button
  • click the "View..." button to inspect the certificate in the Certificate Viewer

You can inspect details like the issuer and the certificate chain in the Details tab of the Certificate Viewer. Check who is the issuer of the certificate. If necessary then you can attach a screenshot that shows the certificate viewer.

With all due respect it is Firefox that is the problem. I am not having any problems with the other browsers on my computer. As a matter of fact, I've been using Chrome since you locked me out of firefox and I like it better. The new system has bugs on top of bugs. Let me know if you ever fix it. Meanwhile I intend to use a browser that doesn't require hours of my time to set up. I really thing the firefox service folks should quit blaming everything but their own program. Why don't they just fix it. It used to be a good browser, now it is unusable. Too bad. I intend to erase it.

Hi, please see if anything here helps - Secure connection failed and Firefox did not connect

If your question is resolved by this or another answer, please take a minute to let us know. Thank you.

Really, firefox just needs to fix their program. It is just awful. Its really a shame too, because I liked it.
