Cannot uninstall Cinema HD 2.4cV20.03 which affects Firefox

Have been plagued by unwanted ads on Firefox since Cinema HD 2.4cV20.03 appeared on my computer on March 20 2015. Have tried combinations of adblockers, add-ons, etc to no avail.

Firefox also keeps crashing, which is a nuisance.

I have tried, several times, to uninstall it via the control panel, but get into a loop when there's a message that I can get some PC Doctor thingie from a provider I've never heard of. It gives me the option to "just uninstall", which I click on, but nothing happens. I can't find Cinema HD 2.4cV20.03 in any search of my program files so as to be able to delete it that way.

Have refreshed Firefox (twice) and scanned my computer fully (via McAfee, which found and quarantined some nasties) but the wretched things still appear!

Any help you could offer would be most appreciated. I am behind in my work

Very best

Babs

hi babs, i'd recommend to refresh firefox again and then run a scan with different security tools like the free version of malwarebytes and adwcleaner which are specialised on adware and browser hijackers. they should yield better results in this situation than traditional scanners like mcafee...
