Thanks for your reply.
I've updated my drivers and tried the sfc command you suggested to use. I ran sfc multiple times, it repaired some files but always said some issues can't be fixed.
Problem with Gmail in Firefox persists and I experienced similar issues when using undo / redo via keyboard control.
ps: perhaps it's an issue with the touch enabled laptop / windows8 / firefox?
Did the message say what issues?
Check for updates for the above.

I've rerun SFC again, but still got message that some files could not be repaired.

I looked at the report. All if has is a whole lot of info statements. You will have to wait for someone else to translate it.

Thanks for your answer.
Tried the MS Fix it Tools but all I get is "not supported by your system configuration"
So, three month later, using Firefox 38beta -- and the issue still occurs.
Any chance to get this fixed?

Do you have any recent crash report?
The report ID that you posted in your question above is a problem with the Silverlight plugin.
You can set all plugins to "Ask to Activate" on the "Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Plugins" page.
Thanks for your help!
I've disabled Silverlight completely but that seems not to help. Anything else I can try?
I will post a crash report if possible but it seems FF does not create crash reports when it's killed via task manager.

Thanks for the hint, I did not noticed that!
Unrelated, the bug associated with the crash signature has been flagged to be related to a Adobe Flash hang from version 17.x but has been resolved in Nightly versions of Firefox. It can be downloaded here, however please take note that these versions are on the bleeding edge of development.
