What I would recommend is get the full installer for the program you want. Remove the other programs, then use the full installer after rebooting.

I do not use Mac, so my knowledge is limited in this area.

By full installer, do you mean remove Word 2011 and reinstall? Even though the problem is identified at Office 2008?

There may be a contaminated file. By removing, then doing a full install, any bad file should be gone.

Thanks Fred McD. I'll have to figure out how to do this.

Check the programs home web site for the full installer and removal.

A post was flagged as Solved Problem. Please remove that flag. It may have been turned on by accident. If you don’t, others that can help may not read this post.

Thanks Fred McD. I chose that the solution was not helpful. Does that remove the Solved flag?

Go to the top of this page. Under your question, you will find the post marked as the solution. On its right is a button to turn the Solved off.

3 crashes in a row and my Mac shut down spontaneously saying it encountered a problem. So frustrated. Haven't reinstalled office. Do you think this is causing it all? Thanks

For the most part, the new crash reports are like the others.

Suggestion, completely remove ALL Microsoft software from your system. Reboot. Run a registry scanner. Then try Firefox.

Took the advice and reinstalled Office for Mac 2011. Made sure I did all the right things to remove it. Thought I was lucky now with Firefox but it crashed again. Here are the last 7 crashes. Is it still the same stuff?

I hate to say this, but . . . . . .

I would recommend that you find a MAC forum on this subject, and join in.

Also, until issue is settled, remove all Windows based programs. Those crashes should stop.
