How can I make the right hand scroll bar wider?

I have: Touchscreen Netbook (Asus EeePC T101MT) Windows 7 Basic Firefox v30 Big Buttons v1.1.7 add-on Fat-a$$ fingers

So, I have modified these things things to make them more touch screen friendly, but I need the scroll bars (Both vertical and horizontal) to be larger.

It seems to be a problem that has existed for a lot of years and is endemic to all platforms (Mac, Windows, and Linux) Every platform seems to have this problem.

Isn't there an adjustment that will change it the way I changed the text size? or do I have to be a programmer?

You could try using another complete theme if you can find one with wider scrollbars. You could also just get another theme and edit the scrollbar.css file to make the scrollbars wider.

If the text is too small, you could set a minimum font size in the font settings. You could also zoom the web pages. Ctrl-+ will make everything on the page larger, Ctrl-- (minus) makes things smaller, and Ctrl-0 returns things to original size.

That's all good and fine, but I'm not a programmer. I don't know how to edit a css file in a theme.

How do you do that? Can you give me step by step directions?

You can use an extension to set a default font size and page zoom on web pages.

You can use the NoSquint extension to set font size (text/page zoom) and text color on web pages.

You would need a (large) theme with wider/taller scroll bars.

You can also check the scroll bars settings in the Operating System and modify the width, but that works for all programs.

Well, I suppose we have confirmed that there is no easy way to widen the vertical scrollbar directly in Firefox. This was the only question I had as a user, and after spending countless hours trying to figure out: How in the world can you "Ask a Question" on the forums when it would not let me "Sign In", I finally resorted to registering as a "contributor" in order to be able to post ANYTHING. I apologize for not going through the proper procedure since I know this is not what becoming a contributor is for, however, if anyone could please explain to me exactly what the mysterious trick is to be able to "Ask a Question" or "Sign In" on the Firefox forum I would be most grateful. I successfully registered with "Sync", but those passwords do not work in the forums. I received several verification emails during the process of trying to "Sign In" to the Firefox support forums unsuccessfully. Please, can someone tell me why it should be so difficult to post a question? I'm fairly computer literate, but I've never encountered such trouble trying to post a question to a support forum. Feel free to contact me at beanctr2@hotmail.com. Thanks.

The last time I wanted to ask a question, I had to use Safari. I was unable to do it with either SeaMonkey or Firefox. I think the answer is to use another type of browser.
