Websocket messages repeatedly "paused and buffered" for 10 minutes

Hi, has anyone seen or experienced the following?

My Windows Firefox browser (44.0.1) appears to "pause and buffer" websocket messages. This doesn't seem to happen in Chrome, or in Firefox on my Mac.

What happens is Firefox is sent websocket messages (say every minute). A few are received and then the browser pauses, for what is often 10 minutes. No errors (or further websocket messages) are displayed in the developer console.

I've attached an image of what is shown during such a pause of about 10 minutes. This image was taken at 8:43. The last update shown is at 8:33.

At 8:45 10 minutes of messages are suddenly displayed as shown in a second attached image. Note that all have the same "display time" of 8:45:22.

After then correctly receiving a few messages (approx 5 of them), a pause will occur again.

I've spent a lot of time looking for and researching what could be the issue, without result. Starting Firefox in safe mode (no plugins) doesn't help. I have default about:config websocket settings.

I'm at the pulling my hair out stage :( I'd really appreciated if anyone has any thoughts or suggestions?
